Valentine’s Day brings up a lot of issues for people, whether single or in a relationship, because there’s just so much romantic expectation heaped onto this one day.  If you’re single, Valentine’s Day can be depressing because you’re surrounded by reminders that you don’t have a partner; if you’re in a relationship there’s pressure (mostly on the man) to create some grand gesture of love, possibly even to propose, and so much potential for disappointment if it doesn’t live up to their partner’s romantic fantasies. My husband and I celebrated the anniversary of our engagement this week (we call it our “personal Valentine’s Day” preferring to commemorate March 13th instead of February 14th) so Love is on my mind.  It’s been 5 years since he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and we’ve been blissfully married for 3 and half years now, together for nearly 8 and a half.  It’s true what they say, time really does fly when you’re having fun: it’s hard to believe we met all the way back in 2005!
